Raise Your Hands
Charity Number (UK): 1174956Raise Your Hands believes all children and young people deserve to thrive and build happy, fulfilling lives, and that small charities are essential in making this happen.
We support 16 partner charities with unrestricted funding, year on year, so they can focus on delivering meaningful and often life-changing services for children and young people.
We select each charity carefully and give it pro bono support, helping it define and work towards its outcomes.
We then monitor progress so every charity has what it needs to stay on track with its yearly objectives. Our charities often tell us we are their favourite funder, because we work alongside them and help them thrive.
The charities:
Our 16 exceptional small charities across the UK do everything from sending bedtime stories home from prison to healing trauma on a therapeutic farm.Together they create an abundance of positive change: improved literacy, better access to the arts, reduced reoffending, unlocking the healing power of the ocean, and helping people live well when facing challenges such as HIV, bullying and terminal illness.
Yet despite their incredible impact, small charities remain overlooked when it comes to funding, with 88% of donations going to the top 5% of UK charities.
That’s why Raise Your Hands exists - to level the playing field by backing these charities and giving individuals and companies innovative ways to support them. We do this by:
Providing unrestricted funding, in perpetuity, enabling charities the autonomy and flexibility to respond to real-time needs
Campaigning to raise awareness of the UK charity funding landscape and its imbalance
Increasing visibility of its charities through content and public engagement
Hosting innovative fundraising events, including the flagship challenge Midnight Madness, which brings in vital support for the entire portfolio.
Facilitating meaningful - and measurable - corporate involvement with the platform of charities through its corporate initiative, Raise Your Hands Partners.
Raise Your Hands rigorously selects and reviews the charities it supports to ensure donations have maximum impact.
Our latest Annual Charity Insights Report can be found here, demonstrating the impact they have across the UK.
