Santa in the City - Leicester

Santa in the City is Leicester's iconic 5k Santa Run.  Launching for the first time this year in Leicester City Centre, Santa in the City will be on Wednesday 4th December 2019 at 6.45pm.  Santa in the City is the only Santa Run event where you'll run past some of the most iconic locations in the city, dressed as a santa! Our charity partner for Leicester Santa in the City is Hope Against Cancer. Find out more below.

Run for fun or run for charity! Santa in the City is the perfect way to get you, your friends, family and colleagues into the festive spirit!

Registration for Santa in the City Leicester is now open - click here for individual or team registrationEach Santa in the City running place costs £21.00 + booking fee (from £1.46/place). Every santa runner will get their very own Santa Suit, running number and Santa in the CIty limited edition medal, plus the chance to say you were part of this year's Santa in the City event!

The Route

Santa in the City starts at the top of New Walk, by the Belmont Hotel. At 6.45pm we will have the traditional Santa Parade and then at approximately 6.55pm all the Santa’s will be set off! You will begin by running down New Walk towards the City centre, past the Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester Mercury building and towards the historic Leicester Cathedral and Richard III visitor centre. The Santa in the City route then takes you past St Martins House, BBC Radio Leicester and through Jubilee Square. You will then turn into High Street and run past the retail outlets, eateries and HighCross Shopping Centre, where you will be cheered on by many of the Christmas late night shoppers!. After this you will go complete a loop in the City Centre before finally passing the Leicester City Centre Market, The Foxes Club Shop and then to the finish line just beyond the Haymarket Memorial Clocktower. A truly unique and iconic route!

No previous experience is needed for a 5km run like this santa dash. The route is relatively flat and you can run, jog or walk. Santa in the City is a great way to get you your friends & family, colleagues into the festive spirit. Following your registration...

Once you have signed up and paid for your place you will receive a Santa in the City confirmation email. Please bring your Santa in the City confirmation email to the Santa in the City check-in desk located by the Haymarket Memorial Clock Tower from 12.00pm - 6.00pm and outside the Belmont Hotel from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. When you check-in you will be given your Santa Suit and running number. Santa Suits are all one-size, but adjustable to fit all. At approximately 6.35pm there will be the traditional Santa Parade to the start line, at the top of New Walk. If you misplace your confirmation email, don’t worry, just let us know and we can send a replacement or just bring id with you when you register on the day. If you need to get in touch email or call Arun in the event team via santa@tfaltd.co.uk or 0333 4441189.

Founded in 2002, Hope Against Cancer supports cutting-edge cancer research in the Leicestershire and Rutland area. We strive for a future where more local people survive cancer. We do this by funding innovative research that leads to improved treatments and better outcomes for local people.

Hope Against Cancer is Leicestershire and Rutland’s local cancer research charity. We fund cutting-edge research in our area and have made clinical trials available to local people. We strive for a future where more people survive cancer. We do this by funding innovative research that leads to improved treatments and better outcomes for local people.

We work in partnership with local universities and hospitals to make sure that Leicestershire is a hub of expertise in cancer research and treatment. Since we were set up in 2003, we have funded over 60 research projects tackling many different forms of cancer.

Santa in the City - London

Santa in the City is London's iconic 5k Santa Run.  Back again in 2019 this year's santa run event will be on Thursday 5th December 2019.  The festive santa dash run itself starts at 7pm and once again Santa in the City is the only santa run where you'll run past some of the most iconic locations in London (and the the world…), dressed as a santa!

The Route

Santa in the City starts on the north side of the Millennium Bridge.You will begin by running over the Thames and enjoying the world famous views of Tower Bridge and the Shard. The route then takes you along the historic south embankment, past the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, some of London's oldest pubs, like the Anchor and past Borough Market. You will cross over Southwark Bridge and hug the north embankment running towards the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. You will then return through the City, back over Southwark Bridge and towards St Paul's Cathedral, via Millennium Bridge to the finish line on St Peter’s Hill, completing a truly iconic route!

The Advocacy Project  helps marginalised communities to speak up, understand their rights and make choices. Stigma, isolation and inequality are some of the biggest challenges faced by people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, dementia and eating disorders. We are working with people to address these challenges. The Advocacy Project also provide a choir who perform at Santa in the City. The Advocacy Project, 73 St Charles Square, London, W10 6EJ.
