Headline Charity Partner: Sarcoma UK

This year the Headline Charity Partner for Santa in the City London is the national bone and soft tissue cancer charity, Sarcoma UK.

Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. It is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma.

Sarcoma UK relies on generous voluntary donations and the energy and imagination of its tireless fundraisers. When you join Team Sarcoma, you are given support from the day you join until you cross your finish line, and beyond. You will be given personalised support, up-to-date information, and Sarcoma UK will be there to answer your questions any time. It’s the least they can do for their Team Sarcoma heroes!

  • The National Brain Appeal aims to transform the lives of the millions of people living with neurological and neuromuscular conditions.

They drive advancement by funding pioneering research, innovative treatments and world-class facilities – over and above what the NHS can provide.

  • "Williams Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder that occurs randomly and affects around one in 18,000 people in the UK. It is non-hereditary and causes distinctive facial characteristics and a wide range of learning difficulties. Infants often have delayed development and can develop physical and mental health problems, including anxiety and depression in later life."

  • Dreams Come True is a national charity with a mission to enrich the lives of children with a disability, serious illness or life-limiting condition by making their dreams come true. It is the only UK wish granting charity that supports children living in the highest areas of deprivation.

Whether it’s a UK family getaway for a young cancer patient, a specially adapted trike for a child with cerebral palsy or a tablet to help an autistic teenager develop their communication skills, each dream brings moments of magic and has a lasting impact for years to come.

With the cost-of-living crisis and soaring inflation, families are struggling to make ends meet. Especially those faced with extra costs due to having a child with additional needs.

  • St Giles is a national charity helping people held back by poverty, the criminal justice system, violence, and exploitation.

We work where support is needed most , in prisons, hospitals, schools, community spaces, and directly in people’s homes.

The people we support come from all walks of life, and our approach is never one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand each person and help them shape their own goals, at their own pace, towards a brighter future.

We’re proud to run on a lived-experience model, meaning many of our staff have faced the same challenges as the people we now support. It’s this understanding that helps us connect, guide, and prove that change is possible.

Through support, advice, and training, we help people turn their lives around, and for every £1 invested in our peer-led work, we save £8.54 for every taxpayer.

Because at St Giles, we believe everyone deserves a chance to change their story, for themselves and the people they care about.

  • Urban Synergy is a youth empowerment charity, founded in 2007, that has supported over 43,000 young people to succeed in education and work. Our mission is bold: to empower 50,000 young people by 2027, our 20th-anniversary year.

We make it happen by connecting young people with relatable role-models, mentors and real work-experience in top organisations. Many of those we support face barriers; whether that’s lack of networks, limited confidence or few role-models in their chosen industry. We turn those barriers into bridges, because it’s not about where you’re from, it’s about where you’re going and who’s walking alongside you.

In the past year alone, Urban Synergy supported over 9,500 students, delivered 114 work placements and 9,440 hours of work experience, built 183 mentoring relationships and achieved 5,783 volunteer hours through our partner network.

We invite professionals, businesses and organisations to get involved—whether by mentoring, offering work placements or partnering to open up opportunity.
