Santa in the City - Leicester

Santa in the City is Leicester's iconic 5k Santa Run.  Launching for the first time this year in Leicester City Centre, Santa in the City will be on Wednesday 4th December 2019 at 6.45pm.  Santa in the City is the only Santa Run event where you'll run past some of the most iconic locations in the city, dressed as a santa! Run for fun or run for charity! Santa in the City is the perfect way to get you, your friends, family and colleagues into the festive spirit!

Every santa runner will get their very own Santa Suit, running number and Santa in the CIty limited edition medal, plus the chance to say you were part of this year's Santa in the City event!

The Route

Santa in the City starts at the top of New Walk, by the Belmont Hotel. At 6.45pm we will have the traditional Santa Parade and then at approximately 6.55pm all the Santa’s will be set off! You will begin by running down New Walk towards the City centre, past the Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester Mercury building and towards the historic Leicester Cathedral and Richard III visitor centre. The Santa in the City route then takes you past St Martins House, BBC Radio Leicester and through Jubilee Square. You will then turn into High Street and run past the retail outlets, eateries and HighCross Shopping Centre, where you will be cheered on by many of the Christmas late night shoppers!. After this you will go complete a loop in the City Centre before finally passing the Leicester City Centre Market, The Foxes Club Shop and then to the finish line just beyond the Haymarket Memorial Clocktower. A truly unique and iconic route!

No previous experience is needed for a 5km run like this santa dash. The route is relatively flat and you can run, jog or walk. Santa in the City is a great way to get you your friends & family, colleagues into the festive spirit. Following your registration...

Once you have signed up and paid for your place you will receive a Santa in the City confirmation email. Please bring your Santa in the City confirmation email to the Santa in the City check-in desk located by the Haymarket Memorial Clock Tower from 12.00pm - 6.00pm and outside the Belmont Hotel from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. When you check-in you will be given your Santa Suit and running number. Santa Suits are all one-size, but adjustable to fit all. At approximately 6.35pm there will be the traditional Santa Parade to the start line, at the top of New Walk.
